U.S. – Experts have linked a recent spike in hypertension to Americans taking most mainstream media news stories with a grain of salt.
“When I was younger, I could gobble up journalism all day. Sure, one or two pieces would elevate the old blood pressure, but the rest were fine,” commented Richard Loggins, who suffered a stroke after watching three straight hours of MSNBC while browsing Foxnews.com.
The phenomenon has been a financial boon for manufacturer Morton Salt, whose sales have quadrupled in post-truth America. But despite the economic gains, four out of five TV doctors recommend that Americans not take the media with a grain of salt.
Said Doctor Oz, “It’s only fake news if you don’t believe it.”
